We have always admired Shweta Bachchan and her sense of style. The lady has plunged into the world of fashion design with daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda and good friend, Monisha Jaising. A starry launch was held today at Pali Hill and it was followed by a get together at Gauri Khan’s place as Maheep Kapoor posted some snaps from the event. Navya Naveli Nanda, Suhana Khan, Ananya Pandey, Allana Pandey and Shanaya Kapoor were some of the star kids present at the launch. Keeping with the vibe of the brand, everyone sported smart casuals. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore a black dress with a floral jacket on it. Katrina Kaif wore a skirt and blouse while her sister Isabelle was in a sparkling dress. Angad Bedi walked in with Neha Dhupia who was radiating happiness in a gown. Nita and Tina Ambani were also present for the label launch. Shweta was always known for her sharp sense of fashion. In an interview to Livemint.com, she opened up on her foray into the world of luxury pret. She told the publication, “I’m going to start with my personal experience. At 44, I have two grown-up children and I’ve plunged into a business I never knew anything about. I hope that this brand will say that you can be any age and start from scratch. As mothers, it was also important for Monisha and I to be our age and design stuff. Young girls tell us “we love this” and though they call us aunty, they think we are cool. That’s another myth, you don’t have to be young to design trendy things. It would also give me pleasure to see people of different sizes wear our clothes and enjoy it.” Stay tuned to BL for more updates!
