International Mother’s Day is only two days away. We are sure you are planning to give a sweet surprise to your Mother – may be by sending a bouquet of flowers? But more importantly, this Mother’s Day vow to change your thought process for the betterment of all the mothers in the world. A picture that is going viral on the internet right now features Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi, putting on her makeup and getting ready for the day while Breastfeeding her baby. She captions the picture, “Multitasking,” The simple picture, put up with no intention of causing a stir, is getting a rave response from Twitterati.

You see, something as natural as breastfeeding is still expected to being a task to be carried out within the four walls of a room, by the society. Every day on the internet we read stories about how a mother was shunned by a stranger for breastfeeding her baby at a restaurant, or a public transport. Just recently, South Indian actress Gilu Joseph’s magazine cover featuring her breastfeeding a baby all the possible flak in the world. So at a time like this, Padma Lakshmi’s post is no less than empowering. The picture she has posted is, thankfully, receiving more positive responses than negative.

BTW, back in March, in an interview, Gilu had responded to the criticism she received. “Women should breastfeed freely, without any sense of fear or inhibition and that is my message in the article too, but people began criticising even without reading what I had to say,” she said.
