Varun Dhawan turned 31 today, but the actor was working for almost the entire day as he was shooting with Alia Bhatt for their upcoming film, Kalank. But then Alia, being the sweetheart that she is, decided to surprise Varun by getting three cakes for him on the sets. Alia put up the video of Varun cutting the cakes and feeding it to the crew on her Instagram story. Not just that, we already told you that director Abhishek Varman made sure that the birthday boy had a feast on set. And so he lived up to his promise as Varun got to eat all his favourite delicacies on the sets. But then we know how hard Varun is training for the role, so we are sure he must have not over-gorged on his favourite food.

Talking about his birthday plans, Varun had said, “Birthdays do make me happy, but I am absolutely cool about it. I feel my birthdays are more special to other people. I had to wake up at 7 am to shoot a big scene with Alia today. So, I don’t think I can celebrate a lot.” As he said, although he couldn’t celebrate a lot, but he got another surprise when he reached home in the form of the many bouquets that were sent to him by his fans.

On working with Alia again, Varun said, “Kalank is very special for Karan’s production house, as it has been in the making since 2004. It was important for us to choose the right film to come back as a pair. People expect a lot from us.” Kalank has been jointly produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and also stars Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt.
