The Mastani of Bollywood Deepika Padukone is undoubtedly one of the finest actresses in the entertainment industry. The 32-year old celebrity who made her dream debut in 2007 with Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om has established a huge fanbase in her career of over ten decades. With her latest blockbuster Padmaavat, she became the highest paid actress in Bollywood beating many of her contemporaries. The film didn’t only garnered critical acclaim but also did a whopping business of over Rs 300 crore at the box office.
The actress in a recent interview with TINGS magazine shared some of the glimpses of her which were quite interesting. When asked her about a specific film or character, which affected her as a person or actress. She replied, “There was a stereotype in my own mind of what an actress should be, what she should look like, dress like, etc. Cocktail is a film that changed a lot of things for me because I think that movie came to me at a point in my life when I was coming into my own. I was having a breakthrough with myself and the role I played in that film sort of enhanced that entire experience for me. The character I played (Veronica) was completely different than who I am personally, and I felt like playing her completely opened me up. I felt like a different, more authentic person after that film and I’ve felt this way ever since.” (Also Read: Same Pinch!
