Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez set the temperatures soaring when they paired up for Kick. So when Sajid Nadiadwala and NGE announced that Kick 2 will hit the floors soon and release in Christmas 2019, everyone thought Salman and Jacqueline would pair up for the movie once again. But if you take a close look to the announcement, there was no mention of Jacqueline’s name. Well, this is because the hottie is no longer a part of the franchise! In fact, we can exclusively tell you that the makers are looking for a new face for the franchise and have already approached a few actresses for the role opposite Salman.
As a source close to the project confirmed to us exclusively, “Jacqueline Fernandez will not be a part of Kick 2, however this is not because of any issue between anyone, but because the story is completely different. Jacqueline’s track ended in Kick. In fact, Kick 2 has a completely new plot and character, hence Sajid Nadiadwala and his team decided to cast a new leading lady. They’ve shortlisted a few names and should make an announcement soon.” And while we had exclusively revealed to you a couple of months back that Deepika had been approached for Kick 2, let us tell you that things haven’t materialised and hence, NGE announced the release date with just Salman’s name. The makers are currently in discussion with at least three top actresses and should make an announcement soon! (ALSO READ – It’s happening!
