Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Padmaavat marked their third film together, after Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela and i. The trio have now delivered a hattrick of hits and they share a very warm and affectionate camaraderie. If you’ve been around these three, you will know that they gel with each other very well. So a fourth person coming in and working with them would find it difficult to get along, right? Well, that’s what happened with Shahid Kapoor! While shooting for Padmaavat, the actor felt like an outsider and left out initially.
As Shahid Kapoor revealed to DNA After Hrs, “I’m used to being the favourite of all my filmmakers. This was the first time that I was like an outsider. When you work with a team that has worked together, you are kind of an outsider and it takes time for you to break through that barrier.” But the actor has no complains as he had a really fun time shooting for the movie and enjoyed being pushed to the limit by SLB. As he added, “The best thing about Sanjay sir is that he is ruthless in his creative desire. He is extremely intuitive towards artistes and his craft. And he doesn’t care whether it is 4 am or midnight, or whether it is 82 days or 100 days or what the cost of one day’s shooting is or if someone is emotionally spent.” (ALSO READ – Padmaavat: Wobbly knees, ice baths and near mental breakdown, Ranveer Singh shares the journey of becoming Khilji)
