The New Year brought relief for Piyush Sahdev as the Beyhadh actor was granted bail by a Mumbai Court. The month of December was a turbulent one as he was lodged in the Arthur Road Jail as the police conducted their investigations into the matter. He was accused of rape and cheating by a 23-year-old fashion designer with whom he was living-in for a few months. Unfortunately, the arrest happened just after he made a great comeback with Beyhadh and Devanshi. In an interview to Bombay Times, Piyush said, “The case is sub judice and I will talk only with my lawyers’ consent. Nobody likes to be in jail; I have lost many days of my life. I just want to get back to work now.” While he was accused, he found support from co-star Kushal Tandon,who said people had no right to character assassinate the actor until he was proved guilty. Piyush further said, “I would like to thank all those who didn’t jump to conclusions and believed that the judicial system should decide who is wrong or right. I have full faith in the judiciary of our country and the real truth will come out soon.” Post his separation from wife, Akangsha Rawat, there has been a lot of spotlight on his personal life. Buzz was that he was dating a creative from a well-known production house after his separation. However, he refuted the rumours saying that his wife and he separated due to long-time compatibility issues. Piyush can travel anywhere for work but needs to be present for the upcoming hearings on the case.
