Padmavati: Before Deepika Padukone, This Lovely Actress Did The Ghoomar Dance – Watch Video!

Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati might be delayed but we are dying to see Ranisa in the Film. She is looking like a Goddess in the film and the Ghoomar song is spectacular. We can see the lovely actress doing the Dance, which is the cultural pride of the Rajput community. Shahid Kapoor who plays Maharawal Ratan Singh is looking at her lovingly and we also see Queen Nagmati, his first wife played by Anupriya Goenka in the frame. The Ghoomar Dance has found its way on many TV shows also. However, there was another actress who did the Ghoomar rather nicely in a Shyam Benegal film. We are talking about Karisma Kapoor. In Zubeidaa, she played the title role. Unlike Deepika who is a queen, she was an aspiring actress and a dance enthusiast in the film. Her character falls in love with a Maharajah, Vijayendra Singh and marries him. He has a first wife, Mandira played by Rekha. There is a Ghoomar dance to welcome Karisma/Zubeidaa and she also excitedly gets up to dance with them. We can see the censure in Rekha’s eyes as Rajput princely women apparently do not join the dancers. Check out the video…

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati was supposed to release on December 1 but now it is delayed. The film has Ranveer Singh as the invader Allauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor. Stay tuned to Bollywood Life for more scoop and updates…
