It rarely happens these days that makers keep a Song or two under wraps before the release of the film. It used to be so much fun, earlier, to go to a movie and see a song for the first time in the film. Well, Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release Jab Harry Met Sejal had a small surprise in store in the form of Raula. Yep, while watching the film I learnt of this Punjabi party number. The foot tapping number has now been released on YouTube, and we wonder why it was kept under wraps.

We won’t say that the song is bad, but Raula is definitely not the most impressive ditty from the film. Though it does feature SRK and Anushka Sharma flirting with each other, which might spoil that that they do fall for each other. But wasn’t that  a given? So, as per the premise of the song Anushka forces SRK to attend his friend’s wedding, and SRK being in love with her agrees. Fun and celebration ensues as SRK breaks into the Punjabi wedding song Raula.

Composed by Pritam, and sung by Diljit Dosanjh, Raula is fun but forgettable number. Though it might just find its cult following! Check out the song here:

If you remember, Raula was one of the rumoured titled of this Imtiaz Ali directorial. So, fans who speculated it, were not completely wrong. Indeed, Raula has to do something with the film. We still can’t imagine how it would have sounded as the film’s title. Jab Harry Met Sejal has a better ring to it.

We have seen how much Diljit and SRK adore and respect each other. Right before the release of Dilwale, Diljit was interviewing SRK, who told him “Diljit! I love you from the core of my mind.” Then around the release of Udta Punjab, SRK sent his love to Diljit again, via video in which he sang EK Kudi and said he loves Diljit. Aww…so sweet of them to finally team up.
