India and China are not having a great bonding these days, with the mounting tensions between the two countries at the North Eastern borders. So film-makers who are planning to set their movies in China are thinking twice about the decision, especially with the current political climate, and would be looking to change the location. One such movie happens to be Baaghi 2. As per a report in Mid-Day, the movie, starring Tiger Shroff, was supposed to kickstart in Shanghai, but the plans have been put on hold because of the strained diplomatic relations between India and China.
In the same report, it was mentioned as to why China was chosen as a location since the producer Sajid Nadiadwala had a deal with the Chinese government earlier, as the latter invited the unit to come and shoot portions of their movie in the country. However, with the ongoing political scenario, they will be looking at alternative locales, and have started the shoot in Pune instead. A source close to the project spoke to the paper and revealed, “The film will now be shot in Pune, followed by a schedule in Ladakh, Bangkok and Mumbai. The China schedule has been put on hold for now.”
Baaghi 2 will also be the second Bollywood movie for Disha Patani, Tiger Shroff’s rumoured girlfriend, who is working with her for the first time. She had made her debut in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, where she played Dhoni’s first girlfriend. She was also a part of the Indo-China movie, Kung Fu Yoga, starring Jackie Chan, Sonu Sood and Amyra Dastur. Both Tiger and Disha will start the shoot for Baaghi 2 with a song. A leading daily had reported, “The song will see Tiger and Disha perform a lot of acrobatics. Unfortunately, Disha was advised rest for two weeks after an ankle injury because of which there was a lull in prep. But she has recovered now and rehearsals are set to resume soon. The song is being choreographed by director Ahmed Khan.”
Baaghi 2 is directed by Ahmed Khan.
