Yesterday, Rishi Kapoor turned Farah Naaz, a yesteryear actress into a Twitter trend. His comment on how she should have been professional made people go crazy about her on social media. He wrote, “One of the prettiest heroines and a wonderful actor Farah Naaz, elder sister of Tabbu. Eccentric,would have been big if she was professional.” He is one actor who doesn’t mind being brazen in his tweets but we are sure you people must be wondering who is Farah Naaz and why is he suddenly talking about her. Well, we can’t really answer the question as to why Rishi Kapoor felt he needs to suddenly remind us of Farah and speak about her too. He has worked with her in films like Naseeb Apna Apna which was a successful film. Although highly regressive, the film was definitely worth a watch. In fact, we strongly recommend the film to you because that’s exactly what India is all about. We can make you aware of who she was because we can bet on it that not many know about her. #Farah debuted on the silver screen in 1985 with Yash Chopra’s Faasle, opposite Rohan Kapoor. Despite the film tanking at the box office, the actress got a lot of offers. But she would have lost out on that opportunity had her mother won. Apparently, Dev Anand had seen Farah at Shabana Azmi’s house. Azmi is Farah’s Aunt. He was very keen to launch her but Farah’s mother wouldn’t have any of it. So later, when Yash Chopra thought of finalising her for his film on Dev saab’s recommendation, he got Azmi into the picture to get Farah’s mother’s nod. She was only 17 years old then.

#She has also worked with Aamir Khan in two films in the 1990s, Jawani Zindabad and Isi Ka Naam Zindagi. Both flopped badly at the box office.

#Farah apparently was supposed to work in Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi-starrer Khuda Gawah but was later replaced by Shilpa Shirodkar. Production delays seemed to be the reason here.

#Farah was going through a rough time in her career when she met Bindoo Dara Singh on the sets of a film. They were attracted to each other. But their families were dead against their union. The couple even tried separating from each other for the same reason. However, their love was too strong and they decided to get married, no matter what. That’s when their families came around. Farah quit films and her career ended. They later had a son.

#But it wasn’t a happily ever-after. In 2003, the couple got their divorce finalised. She got the custody of her son, Fateh.

#Farah then married Sumit Sehgal, another actor from the ’90s. She now stays with him and her son.
