Over the year we’ve caught up with some of the hippest and happening Interior bloggers across Europe. In this round-up, we share some of their insights, but also some trends that other bloggers in the know say we should be looking out for this season. What’s not to love!
Patricia from No Glitter No Glory declares Pinterest as her happiest place and where she is constantly inspired.
Talking of our newIcon bins she applauds its environmental credentials but as she says “I think it’s become so easy for us to consume and not think about the consequences. Most of the time, we are just too greedy, want too much, consume too fast (I’m guilty of this too) and I’m really thankful when brands step up their game, take responsibility and help raise awareness. Every little bit helps” Sentiments we share wholeheartedly.
South London based blogger Cate St Hill, has steadily grown her reputation since starting her blog in 2011 and one of her many accolades was to be included in Houseology’s list of best interior design Instagrams to watch in 2017.
A believer that collectively we can make a difference, Cate explained that increasingly she wants to know where the products she buys come from, how they’re made and the impact they have on the world around her. She also told us how she likes the bones of the room, the walls and floors, to be the neutral backdrop and for homes wares and accessories, such as our newIcon bin, to bring the space alive and tell the story.
Marij Hessel Design Insights Blog
Talking about greenery as the Pantone colour of the year, Marij Hessel, from refurbishing and styling blog Enter My Attic, completely agreed about the power of green to reconnect people with nature.
“In this digital world, we spend a lot of time inside an office or behind the computer. For me, adding plants to my workspace and through the rest of my home, gives me a feeling of being connected to nature in some way. It’s kind of like having a pet, you have to take care of them and give them some love… But most of the time they’re much easier to take care of.”
Jenny Kakoudakis from Seasons in Colour is putting her money on terracotta as the colour that will be on everyone’s design palettes this season. As she says the colour is built into our DNA as we’re used to seeing it grace floors and tiles, but it also translates fantastically well into accessories from ceramics to lamp shades and even wallpaper, such as Narina by Cole and Son in Burnt Orange.
Bristol-based Abi Dare of These Four Walls agrees.
“Earthy colours provide a great way to introduce subtle colour into muted schemes, so they work brilliantly in minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired homes where brighter shades might jar. They’re both warming and calming, and they look wonderful offset against neutrals. They’re incredibly versatile too: you could start small by introducing a few earth-coloured ceramics, or go bolder and paint the walls.”
