Myrtle Beach Snowbird Fest 2015

This annual event organized and hosted by The Snowbird Company is back to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Orange Beach, Alabama to promote Winter rentals and activities to snowbirds that look to escape the cold northern states each winter. While many websites are designed to help snowbirds find winter rentals, the Snowbird Fest is the first expo of its kind designed to help them find suitable winter insurance and become more accustomed to the south in the winter.

This one-day expo contains vendors from all forms of business in the area. Representatives from restaurants, insurance companies, and attractions such as golf and fishing all attend, giving these snowbirds a place to learn about the area and offers during the winter months. These local businesses come with samples of their cuisine, demonstrations of services, health screenings, retail sales, and art for the snowbirds in attendance. Entertainment is also provided for the attendees while they browse the local businesses and winter offers. This year, Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe tribute artists are scheduled to perform at the South Carolina Coast expo.

Many individuals choose to escape the cold winter in the northern states and retreat to the warmer climate. Whether it is the southern hospitality or just the temperature alone, there is a large shift to the south during the colder months. Some have already moved, but most will join their fellow snowbirds in the beginning of the year. This year, the festival will be held at The Hall at St. John’s at 3301 33rd Ave. N. in Myrtle Beach, SC. The event is free for snowbirds to attend.
