You would think being the richest man in the world would mean your biggest regrets in life would be few and far between. They say money can’t buy happiness or fix mistakes, but with a net worth of 85 billion dollars, I have to imagine regrets are a rarity for Bill Gates.

But Gates is human, after all, meaning he has regrets just like the rest of us. His biggest of all? Not making the “Control-Alt-Delete” command one button.

Speaking at the Bloomberg Global Business Network in New York, Gates revealed that if he could do one thing in life differently, it would be the Control-Alt-Delete command. Looking back, Gates says that he would have made it a single key.

“If I could make one small edit, I’d make that a single key,” Gates said.

This isn’t the first time Gates revealed his distaste for the now legendary command. While speaking at a Harvard University event in 2013, Gates made similar statements, only that time, he pinned the blame on IBM:

“We could have had a single button. But the guy who did the IBM keyboard design didn’t want to give us our single button.”

The Control-Alt-Delete command was originally developed by IBM engineer David Bradley to enable employees to restart their computers and was never intended for public use. However, when Microsoft saw how popular it was becoming to solve technical glitches, they decided to roll with it.
