Charley Groks Easter
Charley, my son, was about 10 years of age or so when this happened.
Recall the classic George Romero Zombie flick, “Night of the Living Dead?”
Apparently, sometime during his childhood, Charley must have seen the above movie; not surprising, given his father’s predilections.
Anyhoo, my beloved Wyfe, Charley’s mother, one Easter Sunday explained the meaning of Easter to Charley. A traditional Lutheran, my Wyfe explained to Charley the concepts of the holiday, as best she knew them –- pretty much the standard party line about Jesus’ crucifixion and him arising from the dead.
So at the end of my Wyfe’s explanation Charley replied, “Huh. Sorta like Night of the Living Dead. Eh?”
I’m still laughing.
