Giant paintings of pop icons dressed like royalty with real added crystals and gems

Troubadours of Eternity is the latest series by NYC-based artistic duo Strosberg Mandel. Together, Serge Strosberg (a Belgian-American figurative painter) and David Mandel (a theatrical stylist, jewellery designer and former drag queen) create large-scale assemblage portraits, incorporating a glamorous array of luxury fabrics, semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystals, and miscellaneous found materials.

For their debut solo exhibition, the pair has created a new large-scale portrait series of rock 'n' roll icons presented as royalty. With subjects including Prince, David Bowie, Elvis Presley, Cher and Tom Petty, it's a dream come true for fans of pop culture.

Launching at Lichtundfire gallery, from 24 January 2018, the show is intended as an extravagant, soulful homage to some of the greatest musicians of our time; a celebration of authentic musicianship and timeless spirits.

Troubadours of Eternity: A Solo Exhibition of Works by Strosberg Mandel opens at Lichtundfire, New York, from 24 January - 4 February 2018. Find out more at strosbergmandel.com.
