NASA will not buy from Roscosmos additional space on the Soyuz spacecraft for its astronauts. This was stated by the representative of the US space agency Kirk Shirman at a conference on the upcoming launch of the spacecraft Dragon's spacecraft to the ISS, Space News reports.
"Now we are not discussing the purchase of additional flights with Russia," Shirman said.
According to him, NASA already has places for the flight of American astronauts on the Soyuz until the first half of 2019 with a return in the second half of 2019.
"Our confidence in the timing of the launch of SpaceX and Boeing crews on commercial manned spacecraft is growing," the NASA representative added.
However, he did not rule out the purchase of additional seats on Soyuz, if the ships created by SpaceX and Boeing are not ready in time.
