The Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Senator Ireti Kingibe, has said there is a disconnection between her and the Minister of the FCT, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Sen. Ireti, who made the claims known while speaking in an interview on Channel's TV Sunday Politics, disclosed that communications between herself and Wike are severed, adding that she has reached out to Wike several times but the latter hasn't replied to her calls.

While speaking on the increased rate of kidnappings and crimes in the FCT, she said:
"I took up the issue with the highest echelon of government because I know that these things are really happening.
"I have lived in the FCT since 1988, and I can see how it has become, but there are certain issues we need to address: unemployment, empowerment, abandoned buildings all over the place, shanty towns spring up.
Speaking on her relationship with the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, she said:
"Part of the problems we are having is that there is a big disconnect between the Minister of the FCT and the elected officials (the House of Representatives member and myself).
"The Minister (Wike) is new to the territory, and it is imperative that we work together. I have never met the Minister except when he came for appropriation.
"I have reached out to him several times, and the Minister still thinks Senator Aduda is still the senator of the FCT; unfortunately, that is not the case.
"I have prepared to bombard the Minister with messages because I have called, sent WhatsApp messages, and written him letters, but I don't get any response."
