The presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party in the just concluded presidential elections, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, has called on Nigerians to unite beyond party interests, declaring that the current administration is not managing the Nigerian economy rationally.

Peter Obi made the statement via a tweet today on his verified X handle while reacting to the amount of debt the nation is currently in.

"This is the time when we need to go beyond politics and partisan grandstanding to address the fundamental issues of rational economic management. I am afraid that the current administration is not paying sufficient attention to issues of rational economic management.".

In further tweets on X, the former Anambara State governor said the current debts piled up by the current administration are disturbing to the Nigerian populace, which he said is under harsh economic policies.

"Instead, an unsustainable level of debt is being piled upon the economy, thereby further burdening our already distressed populace, who are bearing the burden of harsh economic policies not backed by compassionate cushioning policies. -PO".
