The General Adviser of the Middle Belt Forum, Ene Ede, has said a woman should be made the National Security Adviser and Defense Minister in the country. Ene Ede, speaking during an interview with Arise News while reacting to the attack by gunmen in Plateau State, stated that women should be considered for such positions because they are bridge builders and cannot afford to be double-faced.

"Women must be involved in the security process; we have not seen that happen, which is why these things (the killings) continue to happen.

"We are calling on women, and we are planning to see how we can take charge of certain structures, begin to entrench ourselves, and bring peace.

"We have not had women mediators as seen in other countries; women for once should be made the National Security Adviser, and at least a woman should be made the Minister of Defense along with a man."

Recall that on December 26th, 2023, gunmen attacked Bokkos in Plateau State, with casualties currently at 140 in the North-Central region, according to reports obtained by VOA News.

Ene Ede, speaking on the attack in the region, added that the victims, both women and children, could pass through traumas in the future, which will be detrimental to the nation.
