The movie 12th Fail is a movie based on the book of the same name written by Anurag Pathak  IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and his journey of cracking the toughest exam in the country. What kind of struggles and failures he has gone through? what kind of problems did he face? how did he fail in 3 attempts out of 4? How did he face financial problems in Delhi when he first came for IAS preparation? All these are narrated in a beautiful screenplay by the director.

The movie follows the same pattern of an underdog becoming a hero. The way that is presented on the big screen is real and authentic like how students deal with the pressure of  cracking the highest exam in the country all these are shown in a very gripping manner that keeps the audience glued to their seats the great thing about the screenplay is it, not only fast pacing but at the same time full of turn and twist

The Journey of Manoj Kumar Sharma was so inspiring that he had to face a new challenge at every stage of his journey,  Like a lack of resources, coming from a family where he had lots of responsibilities supporting his family, and many more

One of the best things the director has done here by keeping each and every character so simple and grounded that makes an instead connection with the audience and at the same time deals with common problems like food, and the ups and downs of life while tackling all the problems just focusing on the goal.

The director did a smart thing he shot in real locations with real students making the movie authentic

The exact smart thing the director did was the perfect balance of entertainment with authenticity like in the scenes where the leading character is spending time with his family adding an element of family

Coming to acting. The leading man Vikrant Massey gave one of the performances of his career and he definitely deserved an award for his role the way he showed emotions with innocence on his face looks so real and natural on his face. and

The rest of the cast including Waheeda Rehman, and Priyanshu Chatterjee did full justice in their roles the students shown in the movie are real students but the performance in their roles was terrific. How lack of students apply for IAS and IPS out of which only 40 become IAS and IPS in the country

But despite having many positives. There are some points that go against the movie the movie follows a basic concept of an underdog becoming a Hero may many movies like Super 30, and Guru. Lagaan all these movies follow a fixed pattern of a decision to achieve something then struggling and finally accomplishing the goal

This movie is not Gadar 2, or Jawan which is only for entertainment purposes this is a serious movie and targets a section of the audience

Despite having an inspiring story and commendable performance by Vikrant Massey at the same time, he is not someone like Akshaya Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, or Shah Rukh Khan. A beautiful and inspiring story like this needs a bigger scale to be mounted as the story needs to be known to every Indian

All in All 12th Fail is an inspiring movie that definitely to be watched once, especially by students preparing for IAS and IPS
