Lilly's Moon

It would have been my Lilly's 9th birthday today and even though I cried all the way though looking at photos of her and typing this post I couldn't let the day pass. Lilly came into my life by chance (or was it) when I was looking for another pomeranian that turned out to be my gorgeous boy Buddy. While I was there to see Buddy, Lilly presented herself to me and asked to be lifted, there she snuggled in and sat with me as Buddy and I got to meet each other. But, as I already had another wee boy at home my heart was set on a boy and it was Buddy who came home with me. Muriel kept in touch to see how Buddy was getting on and one day in October I popped back to let her see how he was coming along. Lilly came home that day and from the get go she was meant to be here. Small in stature, big in heart, shy when she first met anyone but if you were a friend, you was a friend for life. Her one problem was typical of some small dogs, she thought she was bullet proof and didn't take kindly to dogs that had the cheek to be walking on OUR country path and had to be lifted out of harms way...just as well she was barely the weight of a bag of sugar. I miss her little ways, her squeaky bark, her cuddles, how she loved but bossed her Buddy, her love of life and being my constant little shadow. Tonight is August's Full Moon, the Sturgeon Moon, not sure if on this murky rainy day if we will see it, but even if we don't in my heart this will be Lilly's Moon ❤️🐾🐾
