Instant Dream Home is a home renovation reality series released on Netflix, where a team of rapid-fire renovators takes big risks and makes painstaking plans to transform families’ homes from top to bottom in just 12 hours. It is produced by Tom Forman, George Verschoor and directed by Anthony B Sacco.
There are 8 episodes in the series with a runtime of about 41-47 minutes. In this show, a team of builders visits the homes of deserving people who have made a difference in their community and does an entire renovation in just one day. Following the other shows in the renovation genre, the series is all about making a difference.

Danielle Brooks
She is the host of the show and also the team leader of the project. She is best known for her roles as Tasha Taystee Jefferson on the comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019) and Leota Adebayo on the superhero series Peacemaker. She definitely brings a lot of energy to the show and keeps the hectic work fun.

Her role can be tagged as a mood maker, who gets everyone motivated when things are delayed or anxiety sets in. And does a wonderful job of mingling with the families and showing them around, as if she had known them for some weeks at least. However, we do get a bit anxious when she is assigned something trivial, as things will get chaotic for sure.
It has also been announced that the talented actress will be starring in a Broadway revival of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson starting on September 19, alongside Samuel L. Jackson and John David Washington. She will also appear in The Color Purple, a feature adaptation of the musical of the same name, directed by Blitz Bazawule.
Adair Curtis
He is the interior designer on the show who gets everything set from the furniture to different rooms and kitchens. He is the co-founder and chief executive of JSN Studios and is married to the celebrity stylist, Jason Bolden. They also premiered their Netflix show, Styling Hollywood in 2019. To date, their show is the first reality show centred around a gay, Black male couple.
Since he is a family man himself, he definitely takes care of the details that would help other families in making their home design easier. He is definitely the leading force in all the projects, where his visions help others and together they all make a perfect design. You can tell he wants to make everything perfect and is often the worrier in the group when things don’t go as planned.
Erik Curtis
Erik in no way is related to Adair, just to clarify and he is the owner of EN Curtis Woodworks which was started in 2013. In the show, he plays the role of the carpenter, who can make every design come to life. Whether it’s a whole kitchen wall or a fully furnished bathroom. You can always trust him to come up with the solutions to all the problems.
I can definitely imagine him becoming an audience favourite for his diligence to make things happen and the part where he got so excited to create a content trailer for the family, was absolutely adorable. He certainly loves what he does and has also taught at several notable schools, including the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship and the Lohr School of Woodworking.
Nick Cutsumpas
He is the exterior and landscape designer who brought a lot of creativity to renovating the homes. Every episode you could see him working outside all day, digging holes and planting trees. Many times taking them down as well, he even called upon an excavator to take down a tree covered in wisteria vines, which are very hard to get rid of.
He has also written books titled Plant Coach: The Beginner’s Guide To Caring for Plants and the Planet. He is the plant coach and even gave some really good tips about what type of plant to grow in your garden or lawn, and when is the best time to plant them etc. Whenever the families came home, his work on the exterior walls and the landscape was the biggest surprise, that brought happy tears to many eyes.
Paige Mobley
She is the Special Project Expert on the show and her distinctive role and vivid presence made many curious about her background. She is the one who strived to give an extra oomph to all the houses. She is very hands-on throughout the show, helping everyone with anything from nailing cabinets to putting on the floors.
She talked briefly about her family, her mother, Suzanne Bruley is a painter and her father Paul Mobley is a famous entertainment portrait photographer and author of 4 books. She has been modelling since a young age and made her first television performance, on Gossip Girl as Chuck’s party date and even in Transformers: Age of Extinction as an international model.
But many might know her as a contestant on America’s Next Top Model for Cycle 23. Although she was eliminated in Episode 10, the show paved the way for roles and more notable opportunities.
