Bones and All Teaser: Timothée Chalamet’s Cannibal Romance Looks Tempting

The next Timothee Chalamet project has us all wondering with curiosity and gasping for more. The Bones and All teaser has dropped and the first look of Chalamet’s upcoming film is tempting, interesting and unique. A cannibal romance at its core, the film will mark the reunion of the Call Me By Your Name Duo.

Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, who gave Chalamet his award-winning film Call Me By Your Name is helming this upcoming project titled Bones and All too. This upcoming film is based on the novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis and is scheduled to premiere at the Venice Film Festival 2022. Last year, Chalamet won hearts with his performance as Paul Atreides in Dune at the annual event and Guadagnino’s last project to debut at the fest was the 2018 horror featuring Dakota Johnson called Suspiria.

Bones and All is going to be a cannibal romance and, it will be the first time we see Chalamet take on a role this unique. The coming-of-age film will tell the story of two cannibal lovers Maren (played by Taylor Russell) and Lee (played by Timothee Chalamet). We will see the duo take a road trip across America as their love develops and threads on dangerous waters on this thousand-mile odyssey. The other cast members for the film include Michael Stuhlbarg, André Holland, Chloë Sevigny, David Gordon-Green, Jessica Harper, Jake Horowitz and Mark Rylance.

The film is produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Frenesy Film Company, Memo Films, Per Capita Productions, 3 Marys Entertainment, The Apartment Pictures, Tenderstories, Ela Film, Immobiliare Manila, Serfis and Wise Pictures. The screenplay is written by David Kajganich, who has partnered with Guadagnino on a similar horror, coming-of-age film (Suspiria) in the past.

The 28 seconds-long teaser wraps in as much as it possibly can. It opens with a wide shot of a lilac sky and our two main characters resting their forehead against each other. Timothee Chalamet’s character asks Russell, “You don’t think I’m a bad person?”, the question is followed by a chain of scintillating and scary snippets and ends with Taylor Russell replying, “All I think is that I love you”.

Bones and All Teaser

After its film festival premiere, Bones and All will be released to the masses sometime in November according to its first look. However, if the film will get a full-fledged theatrical release or will get a limited release and be shipped to an OTT platform still remains unannounced.
