What is Boysen Acqua Epoxy?
Boysen Acqua Epoxy is a water-based acrylic epoxy paint that’s ideal for both interior and exterior concrete and metal floorings. Not only is Acqua Epoxy built to last, it also has outstanding abrasion resistance. This makes the paint able to withstand foot and light vehicular traffic.
It’s also formulated to resist stains, solvents, and low concentrations of acid and alkali. This is ideal especially if you’re planning to repaint the floors of your warehouse or workshop.
Where can I use Boysen Acqua Epoxy?
Boysen Acqua Epoxy can be used on interior and exterior metal surfaces and concrete floors. For floors, think garages, basketball courts, warehouses, workshops, and more. And for metal surfaces, consider it for metal stairs, gates, and the like.
It’s important to note though that the surface preparation and painting instructions are different per substrate. Be sure to check what’s right for your project. Find instructions for Boysen Acqua Epoxy’s surface preparation procedure here.
What colors does Boysen Acqua Epoxy come in?
Boysen Acqua Epoxy comes in eight colors. The standard shades of black and white as well as six more colorful options.
Can I use tinting colors for Boysen Acqua Epoxy?
No. While it is water-based, you can’t use tinting colors, like Boysen Latex Colors for tinting Boysen Acqua Epoxy. You do, however, have the option of mixing readily available colors together to achieve other hues.
Why isn’t my container of Boysen Acqua Epoxy full?
This is intentional. So, don’t worry. You didn’t get less product for your money.
Boysen Acqua Epoxy is a 2-component paint. This means that when you buy this product, you will get two cans. A bigger can which is your paint and a smaller one which is its curing agent. You mix the contents of these two cans together before you can use and apply your Acqua Epoxy.
To make this step easier for you, Boysen allotted space in the bigger container so you can pour in the smaller one and mix it there.
Can I use Boysen Acqua Epoxy without the curing agent?
No. Acqua Epoxy, like other epoxy and polyurethanes paints, require a curing agent in order to dry. Apply it without the curing agent and it will stay wet and sticky on your surface no matter how long you wait. You can learn more about the drying process of 2-component paints here.
What does pot life mean?
Pot life pertains to how long a 2-component paint can be used after it’s been mixed. After the pot life has elapsed, the product will thicken or harden and be difficult to apply.
Boysen Epoxy Primer has a pot life of 5 hours and Boysen Acqua Epoxy has a pot life of 24 hours. Again, pot life starts once the 2 components of your paint have been mixed together. Work smart and use your mixed paint within this time.
Remember, because of their shorter pot life, once a 2-component paint has been mixed, leftovers cannot be stored for use at a later date.
