Poor Millie Bobby Brown. The young Netflix star has had a tough couple of months, and things just don’t seem to be getting any easier. Brown took to her Instagram this week to ask for a little respect from her fans. Brown shot to fame at just 12 years old and has since dealt with the downside that fame brings. Since appearing on Stranger Things, the British actress was shot to fame, with millions adoring her character Eleven in the sci-fi series. But sadly, it isn’t all fun and games for the teenager…
On Monday, Brown posted on her Instagram Stories about an encounter that ruined her day. While the star was out shopping for Christmas presents, a fan approached her, where the sitation got out of hand. Millie explained that the fan asked “Can I take a video of you?”. Brown declined, as she states on the post “Why would anyone want to be taken a video of? Of me? It’s not like of the both of us”.
Brown continued to describe the fan encounter:
“I don’t need to justify it to anyone; if I don’t want to be taken a video of, I don’t have to be. I was paying and she walked past me and began to video me again – and I said, “I’m a human being, like, what more can I ask from you? She said, ‘So I can’t take a video of a human being?’ And I said, “No, not when I said no.” It just makes me upset when people try to push the boundary, and I just wish people were more respectful. You have to show more respect for others, no matter who they are, what they do – it’s just manners”.
Against her wishes, the fan pushed for an interaction that the star was not comfortable with. In a clip later posted to her Instagram, Millie Bobby Brown reassured fans that she is fine but felt disrespected at the time. It’s been a very crazy time for the young actress, with Brown losing her grandmother recently to Alzheimer’s. The star has also had to juggle an immense workload. Stranger Things Season 4 has started shooting after being halted for months due to the coronavirus pandemic. Enola Holmes was also a massive hit for Netflix, with Brown signed to another movie in the pipeline for the streaming service. You can do this Millie!
