Former Arsenal target set to sign for Brentford in £19m deal
Brentford are closing in on the signing of Scotland left-back Aaron Hickey from Serie A side Bologna, just two years after he joined the Italian side.
Hickey enjoyed a brilliant season in the Serie A, with the 20-year-old grabbing five goals and an assist across 33 appearances in the top flight, attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal in the process.
His ability earned him his first senior Scotland cap too, making his debut in March 2022 and having featured a total of 4 times since.
Now, he is set to take his talents to the Premier League, with Brentford having agreed a deal worth 22m euros including add-ons (£19m).
Done deal and here we go confirmed. Aaron Hickey will fly to England today in order to undergo medical tests and sign the contract until June 2027 as new Brentford player.

The player is expected to be in England on Wednesday in order to undergo medical tests and media duties, where he will sign a five year deal with the Bees.
Brentford miss out on Eriksen
One major disappointment, however, is the decision of Christian Eriksen to move to Manchester United rather than remain at Brentford this summer.
Contracts are now ready for Christian Eriksen to sign with Manchester Utd, just waiting for medical and then it will be completed.

While no doubt Bees fans will not begrudge him a return to European football, they will be all too aware of the massive role he played in keeping them in the top flight last season when he joined the side in January.
Replacing him will not be easy.
