Ralf Rangnick excited about Manchester United project under incoming manager Erik ten Hag
Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has been left feeling positive about the direction of his current charge in the wake of the Red Devils renewing the contract of key attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
As reported by insider Fabrizio Romano and other outlets, Rangnick reflected on the Portuguese international extending his stay at Old Trafford as a sign that the club remains a highly attractive destination for some of the biggest names in football.
Rangnick: “The renewal of the contract of Bruno Fernandes shows this is a massively attractive club – with a new manager and new approach soon”. #MUFC

But perhaps most importantly, it shows that Fernandes has bought into the upcoming rebuild under incoming manager Erik ten Hag, who is set to take the reigns from Rangnick in the summer after finally making the jump outside of his native Netherlands after a very credible spell with Dutch giants AFC Ajax.
The hopes that Ten Hag will be given full control at United to headline a full rebuild in the first-team in his image has been backed by many, including former club icon Dwight Yorke, as the Red Devils have struggled mightily this season to close the gap to rivals Manchester City and Liverpool after finishing second last season under Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
Even before Ten Hag was appointed as the next man to hopefully lead United back to the top of the Premier League pyramid, speculation has continued to grow regarding who the Dutch tactical intends to bring to the Theatre of Dreams to headline the upcoming tactical changes under his command.
Set for an advisory real that will begin once Ten Hag arrives in the northwest of England, Ralf Rangnick is said to be looking forward to helping the new man in charge institute a massive change in approach that many hope will be the first step to the club recovering its status as the biggest club in England on the pitch, not just off of it.
And the list of names that United has already been linked with is impressive and has shown no signs of regressing as the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Kalvin Phillips, and Sébastien Haller having all been linked with interest from the English giants, with two of the aforementioned having direct links to Ten Hag and Ajax.
With a key piece of the puzzle in Bruno Fernandes already signed on for the hopeful Ten Hag revolution, the groundwork is already being laid for the new man in charge to – the hope of many – have carte blanche in how he can build out the squad and retool it to become a competitive outfit once again on both the domestic and European fronts.
