Bundesliga Betting Tips Preview | Matchday 30

Bundesliga Betting Tips Preview | Matchday 30

It’s matchday 29 in the Bundesliga, which once again will have an element of inevitability surrounding it as Bayern Munich take their 9-point lead to Arminia Bielefeld in the hopes of putting one foot into the door for another Bundesliga title Borussia Dortmund could also take another step in cementing their position in 2nd when they host struggling VfL Wolfsburg, while FC Augsburg and Hertha Berlin come to grips in a relegation six-pointer, and 1.FC Köln will look to climb back into the top-six. But the headline clash comes in a top-four contest between Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig to close out the weekend program on Sunday evening in what should prove a highly-entertaining affair. Here is 101 Great Goals’ betting tips preview for matchday 29.

SC Freiburg (5th) vs VfL Bochum (12th)

The dream of Champions League football continues for Christian Streich’s underdog Freiburg outfit this season as the Black Forest outfit sits just three points adrift of fourth spot in the table and comes into the weekend proceedings against visiting Bochum in decent form (3-2-1) but should be wary of Die Unabsteigbaren side that has been a credit to themselves all season long. Bochum comes in with a clean bill of health while Freiburg has one or two peripheral figures unavailable, their key players are available for service. Bochum owns the recent head-to-head record between the two, but Freiburg has been the much better side in 2021-22 and should be able to pull off a narrow home win.

FC Augsburg (14th) vs Hertha BSC (17th)

A relegation six-pointer is set to take shape at the WWK Arena when Augsburg welcomes Hertha BSC to Bavaria on Saturday in a match that could play a critical role in defining the future of the capital outfit who face the potential of being relegated to the 2.Bundesliga. With just one win in their last six (1-0-5), the odds are stacked against Die Alte Dame but their 4-1-1 record against Fuggerstädter may boost their chances. Hertha has a bit of an injury crisis at the minute, however, with goalkeeping duo Rune Jarstein and Alexander Schowlow both unavailable as well as key center forward Stevan Jovetić. Augsburg has their own injury concerns as well and could be good for a win after securing three in their last six.

1.FSV Mainz 05 (10th) vs VfB Stuttgart (15th)

Mainz has been under siege since March after a massive Covid outbreak gripped Die Nullfünfer’s camp and though they have seemingly recovered in that light, they have a swath of injury concerns to consider. The same can be said for visiting Stuttgart who particularly will be missing the services of Silas Katompa Mvumpa, Nikolas Nartey, and Mohammed Sankoh through injury while Saša Kalajdžić may not have returned fully from Covid but could potentially feature. Mainz has posted the fourth-best home record in the Bundesliga and that could be enough to see them over the line despite the recent results being split right down the middle between the two (3-0-3).

Borussia Dortmund (2nd) vs VfL Wolfsburg (13th)

Six wins from six in their recent matchups put Borussia Dortmund in the driver’s seat when they welcome Wolfsburg to the Ruhr valley, with Die Wölfe proving themselves completely incapable of ridding themselves of the bugbear that has been Die Schwarzgelben in recent times, failing to score against Dortmund in their last five trips to the Westfalenstadion. Dortmund has been decimated by injuries though, which includes starlet midfielder Gio Reyna out for the remainder of the season while Wolfsburg is set to welcome back a cadre of key figures the likes of Ridle Baku and Renato Steffen. Dortmund should be able to continue their home streak against the opposition alive though, but only just.

Borussia Mönchengladbach (13th) vs 1.FC Köln (8th)

It has been an incredibly difficult ride for Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2021-22 Bundesliga season, with Die Fohlen firmly rooted in the bottom half of the table for just about the entire term. But there could be light at the end of the tunnel after Adi Hütter’s men have earned 10-points from a possible twelve in recent weeks (3-1-0) and are now just two points away from potentially climbing into the top half of the table. That form could be supported by a run of home results (2-2-0) that puts them into a strong position on Saturday evening against visiting Köln in a coming together of two sides that have clean bills of health. Previous meetings are split down the middle, however, and with Köln garnering some very credible results this season, there is scope to suggest they could come away with something.

Arminia Bielefeld (16th) vs Bayern Munich (1st)

Bayern Munich was left reeling after they were dumped out of the Champions League quarterfinals by underdog Villarreal in a 2-1 aggregate loss against Unai Emery’s men, and boss Julian Nagelsmann will undoubtedly be motivated to set the record straight even if he does have to shake up his preferred XI as Bayern close in on another Bundesliga title as they sit comfortably at the top of the table. And a swath of selection headaches for Bielefeld manager Frank Kramer could give Bayern the license to further pin Die Arminen in the bottom three considering Bielefeld is winless in their last six in the Bundesliga (0-5-1). Bayern is wounded at the minute, but this should be one-way traffic at SchücoArena.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (6th) vs Greuther Fürth (18th)

Hoffenheim’s chances at European football next season have come under fire and are firmly in the crosshairs of Union Berlin and FC Köln coming into the weekend after Die Kraichgauer have lost three on the spin and remain winless in their last four in the Bundesliga. Despite their poor run of form, no one expects visiting Greuther Fürth to come away from Sinsheim with anything in the points bag, but recent draws against Köln, Freiburg, and Frankfurt could offer a platform that could see Kleeblätter earn an unexpected draw. Both sides have a swath of injury concerns, however, but Hoff has maintained some of their key attacking assets that could make the difference on Sunday.

Union Berlin (7th) vs Eintracht Frankfurt (9th)

In the last five clashes between Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt, neither side has been able to keep a clean sheet regardless of if it was a home or away tie for either outfit and that storyline could persist on Sunday as both will be out for a full three-point haul given the direct European implications next season. Frankfurt has won the last two meetings, however, which included a 5-goal haul last March during the 2020-21 Bundesliga campaign but Union can count on a better run of form in the league and the notion that they have the joint-5th best home record in the German top flight this season. But given the near-identical data surrounding both clubs, this could end in a draw come full-time.

Bayer Leverkusen (3rd) vs RB Leipzig (4th)

Recent fixtures suggest on balance that the top clash of the weekend featuring Bayer Leverkusen welcoming resurgent RB Leipzig to the BayArena could end just about neck and neck. Of their last six meetings, three clashes ended in a 1-1 draw while Leipzig earned a 1-0 win at home in January of last season. But Leverkusen won the first meeting between the pair back in November when they ran out 3-1 winners at Red Bull Arena, earning their only win against Die Roten Bullen in three seasons. Both sides are highly capable of finding the back of the net and have posted the third and fourth best-goalscoring records this term, but RBL’s defensive numbers could once again prove decisive. The absence of Florian Wirtz could also play a vital role in Leverkusen’s chances despite Moussa Diaby‘s form.
