Jesse Marsch identifies pair of fellow countrymen as key Leeds Targets Ahead of summer
Premier League outfit Leeds United have identified a pair of key transfer targets ahead of the opening of the summer window, according to reports.
The info comes by way of TEAMtalk, who point towards two fellow countrymen of newly-appointed boss Jesse Marsch as being eyed.
First up, altogether unsurprisingly, comes Red Bull Salzburg talent Brenden Aaronson.
Midfield creator Aaronson was of course hotly tipped for an Elland Road switch throughout the January transfer window, with the Whites’ interest in his services having remained very much intact on the back of Marsch’s arrival.
And another United States international understood to have joined his compatriot on the wishlist in west Yorkshire, as per TEAMtalk, comes in the form of Sergino Dest.
Versatile full-back Dest has endured something of a hit-and-miss campaign to date, on his way to starts in 15 of Barcelona’s 28 La Liga fixtures.
The preference of Xavi Hernandez for the 38-year-old Dani Alves, though, could point towards a lack of trust in the young American, with Leeds, in turn, hopeful of taking advantage of the situation ahead of next season.
The transfer team at Elland Road could even take advantage of Barcelona’s known interest in star man Raphinha, to lure Dest in as part of an exchange deal of sorts.
TEAMtalk understands that Leeds are pushing forward with plans for the summer window and, subject to Prem survival, remain actively in pursuit of Brenden Aaronson.

Saints test
Turning attentions back towards the road ahead, Leeds are set to kick the club’s survival efforts back into gear this coming weekend.
On the back of the latest international break coming to a close, the Yorkshire outfit will welcome Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, no doubt confident in their chances of making it three wins on the bounce in the Premier League.
