A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the interim forfeiture of $40m worth of jewellery belonging to ex- Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison Madueke, to the federal government.

The judgement was delivered on Friday by Justice Nicholas Oweibo.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had filed an exparte application to which the court granted.

According to the EFCC the said jewelries comprise of wristwatches, necklaces, bracelets, bangles, earrings and are very expensive.
