Africans On Confederate Trail – 100 Buckets

Africans on Confederate Trail is a collaborative musical project dedicated to promote social change and challenge systems of oppression. The group debuted in 1028 with the album U.S.Similated. That record introduced a group of artists from around the world coming together to create a space for dialogue and reflection around issues of race, power, and the legacy of the Confederacy in the United States.

With an ever changing roster of collaborators, Africans on Confederate Trail have released four subsequent volumes of the U.S.Similated series. Through visual art, music, and spoken word poetry, the project confronts the uncomfortable truths of American history. Their goal is to unite others in the ongoing fight for racial justice.

“100 Buckets Version II” is the current single by Africans on Confederate Trail. The record first appeared on the album U.S.Similated IV: Journey, available worldwide via all major streaming services. Syncopated percussion, piano arpeggios and ambient synths create a psychedelic vibe over a downtempo trap groove. On the mic, emcee Baba Yao drops a chill hip-hop meditation on the virtues of ballin’, inspired by the NCAA (March Madness) basketball championships.
