Input on a France/Belguim itenerary

Looking to get input from some more experienced travelers for our planned agenda. This is the Trip that we are looking at:Dec 23 arrive in Paris at 12pmDec 24-26 ParisDec 27 travel to Normandie in AM via train, rent car in NormandieDec 28-29 NormandieDec 30 travel back to Paris in AM via trainDec 31-Jan 2 ParisJan 3 return homeThis will be our second time in Paris, and wanted to explore more of France this time around. Our questions are:Is it worth it to try to day trip to Brussels or Amsterdam? Or should we plan a night in each if we want to go?Is there a feasible way to get to Brussels or Amsterdam from Normandie? We couldn't find any train routes where we didn't have to pass through Paris. Are rental cars outrageous if you get them in one country and return them in a different country? Is 2 full days enough in Normandie? We're looking to go to the Mont Saint-Michel and a couple of the D-Day Beaches, and if we have time Giverny for Monet's house. We were planning to rent a car for this portion of the trip as we've read that public transport in Normandie is not nearly as good as in Paris. Thanks everyone for your help! via /r/travel https://ift.tt/2K0JVYN https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
