No public Holiday. The Lagos State Government on Wednesday says it has not put aside Friday as a public holiday to empower Lagosians to get ready for the governorship and House of Assembly elections.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kehinde Bamigbetan, in an announcement, said Lagosians should dismiss the reports via Social Media Platforms suggesting that the State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, had pronounced Friday as a public holiday, including that government workers were required to be at their different duty posts.
“A report currently circulating on social media platforms had suggested that the State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode had declared Friday as a public holiday to enable Lagosians to prepare for the March 9 governorship and House of Assembly elections.
“We want to use this medium to say that the information was untrue and all civil servants are expected to be at their various duty posts on Friday.”
He, be that as it may, included that all public and private schools in the state are expected to proceed on the second mid-term break on Thursday, 7 and Friday 8 March 2019 and resume academic activities on Monday, March 11, 2019.
