SAG Awards 2019: Black Panther and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” win big

Black Panther” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” were the big champs Sunday night at the SAG Awards 2019 function that spread the bounty among several movies and TV programs.

Black Panther emerge the big winner of the 25th Annual SAG Awards 2019 which commenced on Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The occasion which was hosted by Megan Mullally saw stars of film and TV meeting celebration of the movie industry.

Black Panther won the best film award at the ceremony in this way putting it in strong contention for next month’s Oscars award.

The cast of the superhero mega-hit won for exceptional performance by a troupe in a film at the 25th Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Star Chadwick Boseman discussed the social criticalness of the film’s prosperity and referenced the Nina Simone melody, “To be Young, Gifted and Black.”

“We knew that we had something special, that we could create a world that exemplified a world that we wanted to see,” Boseman said.

The cast of the streaming giant’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” brought home three awards, including performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.

The show’s stars Tony Shalhoub and Rachel Brosnahan won individual awards, too.

“I just want to say that the greatest honor of my life is to be nominated in the same category as Alan Arkin,” Shalhoub said during his speech.

Outstanding ensemble, drama series: “This Is Us”

Outstanding ensemble, comedy series: “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”

Best actor, drama series: Jason Bateman, “Ozark”

Best actress, drama series: Sandra Oh, “Killing Eve”

Best actor, comedy series: Tony Shalhoub, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”

Best actress, comedy series: Rachel Brosnahan, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”

Best actor, TV movie or miniseries: Darren Criss, “The Assassination of Gianni Versace”

Best actress, TV movie or miniseries: Patricia Arquette, “Escape at Dannemora”

Outstanding stunt ensemble, comedy or drama series: “Glow”
