Actor Sanjay Dutt’s Debut Marathi Production, Baba, alongside his wife Maanayata Dutt, was selected to be screened at the Golden Globes 2020. Produced under the couple’s banner Sanjay S. Dutt Productions, the movie was officially selected for screening at the prestigious award show to compete in the foreign language category.
Speaking about the selection, Maanayata Dutt said, “We are all so happy and proud that Baba will be screened at the Golden Globes. Our goal is always to create a meaningful yet entertaining cinema as we have done with Baba. The movie was released today and we hope the audiences receive the film with their love and support.”
With three films under production, two of which are Hindi films and one Punjabi, Sanjay S. Dutt Productions aims to branch out to regional cinema, along with Bollywood films. The production house will also collaborate with renowned directors for future projects.
On the workfront, Sanjay Dutt released the teaser of his upcoming movie Prasthanam and the teaser was well received by the audience. A remake of hit Telugu movie of the same name, Prasthanam is also produced by Sanjay S. Dutt Productions. Directed by Deva Katta, the political action film will star Sanjay Dutt, Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff and Ali Fazal in lead roles. Prasthanam is slated to hit theaters on September 20th 2019.
On the other hand, Baba, directed by Raj R. Gupta, released in India on August 2nd.
