Top 6 Party Dresses: Sew your own Holiday Party Dress

Tags: dress love

Hi Everyone,

Let's just face it, our lives are busy and the last thing we want to spend money and time on is shopping especially in the crazy holiday rush!  Which is why I decided to put together some great party Dress patterns that are somewhat simple to make and will have you looking cute and confident for all your holiday events.

What I Love most about these patterns is they have simple silhouettes and are easy to wear. Most importantly I love that all these dresses can be worn more then once, unlike a lot of holiday dresses you will buy at the store.  It's amazing what you can do with an outfit by changing up the shoes, jewelry, and layering pieces.

Maxi Dress: Made with Lavish Fabrics

1. Maxi Dress  by Dressy Talk Patterns

Long elegant maxi dresses are a perfect choice for your next holiday function. I love the fitted bodice with the asymmetrical cut hem! The free flowing skirt drapes beautifully with this dark floral voile fabric. AGF Voile is super soft and feels nice against the skin. I love lining all my outfits with voile!

2. Dress by Schnittchen Patterns

Looking for something a little more structured and fitted! Then this dress by Schnittchen Patterns is your dress! We made our dress with AGF cotton fabric, which gave this dress a bit more shape but it still has enough ease and breathability to be able to keep you the life of the party.

3. Date Night Dress by April Rhodes

The Date Night Dress is super flattering to the figure with it's semi loose fit and drapey bell shelves. The simple scoop is great for adding a strand of beads or a delicate short chain necklace. To finish of this outfit try adding a cute belt to accentuate the waistline.

4. Washi Dress Sewing Pattern

100% in love with the pleating detail on this dress! Not only is it cute but it helps hid anything you might need hiding. For me it would be all the pie and sweets I am going to eat! The great thing about this pattern is it gives you options and a girl needs options! Choose between fun necklines, sleeve lengths, skirt lengths, and so much more. This pattern is also perfect for beginner sewers because yes you guest it .... NO ZIPPERS or closures of any kind!

Dress: Made with Ethereal Fabrics

5. Beatrix Skater Dress by Named Patterns

AGF Knit is by far my go to fabrics for clothing. I love the comfy factor of this fabric  and all the amazing AGF prints to choose from. Be the bell of the ball in this effortless Skater Dress by Named Patterns. The neck has a slight turtle neck which is cute and comfy for the cold winter nights. The trumpet with vertical seams adds just the right amount of detail.

Made with Wild and Free Fabrics

6. Sparkle Dress

Last on the list is the Sparkle Dress! I love this Star Voile print from the Wild and Free fabric collections! So dreamy and whimsical. It's very loose fitting and flowy but super easy to make. Did I mention this is a  free dress pattern !

The holidays are about having fun, sharing great memories, and being gracious for what life has given you. So don't get wrapped up being worried and stressed about buying presents and the perfect dress. Choose a dress from the list and get started!

Happy Sewing,

Meli
