When Concert Posters Were An Art Form Part 1: 1966 - 1967

From the Famous Rock Posters site:

"Concert poster art is usually defined by the bold and graphical psychedelic rock posters from the 1960s.
In the history of rock poster production, these posters were considered
just advertising for the musical venues and events.
But as the industry grew, the artists became better attuned and articulate with their craft;

there was a certain boldness, splash and swirling colorful mystery about these posters..."

These days live shows are as popular as ever.

Events that feature live music have become an intrinsic part of our culture.

When I look back to how concerts were advertised back in the day
it's obvious that there seemed to be more of an artistic statement being made;
not only in the music being presented but also in the imagery and artistic sensibility
that was enlisted to create excitement about the shows these posters promoted.

In fact, when one looks at the concert posters from the 60's,
the creation of flyers and posters for live shows was a genuine art form.
