Today's post is the third installment of my Concert Posters Series!By the 1970's, many rock posters began to abandon the LSD-inspired San Francisco look.
Some o the poster artists began to use more realism
and stylized imagery in the posters being used to promote live shows.
One factor that influenced concert poster art in the 70's
was the massive growth of the music business
as mega tours began to replace small package tours.
Magazines such as Rolling Stone became the popular music bible of the day.
Films like Woodstock created a cultural identity among young folks around the world.
Musically, the excesses of the 60's counterculture were abandoned
as the popular rock music of the day became much more simplified and straightforward.
