Shriya Saran Family & Education:
Shriya Saran was born on 11 September 1982 in Haridwar, Uttrakhand. Shriya’s father Pushpendra Saran Bhatnagar is a Civil Engineer who worked in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited while her mother Neeraja Saran Bhatnagar was a Chemistry teacher in Delhi Public School. Shriya did her schooling in Delhi Public School, Ranipur and Delhi Public School, Mathura Road. Saran completed her degree in Literature from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi. She also has an elder brother Abhiroop.
Shriya Saran Career & Achievements:
Shriya made her acting debut in 2001 with Telegu film Ishtam, directed by Vikram Kumar & Raj Kumar. In 2002 Saran appeared in Telegu romantic comedy movie Santosham along with Nagarjuna, Prabhu Deva and Gracy Singh. It was her first commercially successful film. The film won Filmfare Best Film Award (Telugu). In 2003, Saran debuted in Bollywood with romantic drama Tujhe Meri Kasam along with Ritesh Deshmukh & Genelia Dsouza. In the same year, Shriya appeared in Telegu crime drama Tagore opposite Chiranjeevi, directed by V. V. Vinayak. In this period, she acted in several Telegu and Tamil movies.
In 2004, Saran appeared in film Chatrapathi opposite Prabhas. She nominated for the Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award for this movie. In 2007, Shriya selected as a female lead role for Telegu movie Sivaji: The Boss opposite Rajnikant, directed by S.shankar.The film was the most expensive film at this time in the Indian film industry. Shriya Saran won South Scope Style Award for Best Tamil Actress for this movie. The film got huge successes at the box office. She got huge popularity in South Indian Film industry for this movie. In 2007, Saran appeared in Hindi crime drama Awarapan opposite Emraan Hashmi. She also appeared in Hindi films Zila Ghaziabad, Drishyam, and oh, My God.
Saran made her American film debut in 2008 with the film The Other End of the Line. In 2009, Saran appeared in English film cooking with Stella. In 2010, Saran debuted in Malayalam film industry with film Pokkiri Raja. Saran also appeared in many advertisements for brands like Coca-Cola, Ponds, Fair & Lovely, Lux etc.
