Top 8 New Hindi Web Series, Movies Of March 2021

It will be a year soon since corona knocked us down and changed our lives forever. The idea of going out for a movie or simply hanging out with friends outdoors seems to be from another age and time. The new normal is here to stay and so is the OTT entertainment.

Well, if you are wondering there is nothing left to watch and you have gobbled up everything on OTT, here comes the surprise. Here are 8 new Hindi web-Series and movies releasing in March 2021:

1. Indoo Ki Jawani

When: Now Streaming

Where: Netflix

Indoo Ki Jawani

This unfunny, messy coming-of-age story of a young girl (Kiara Advani) is scattered all over the place and will leave you tugging your hair out of their roots. The movie has a few funny scenes here and there but overall it seems to be nothing but a big waste of time. So, beware before hitting that button.

2. Bombay Begums

When: Now Streaming

Where: Netflix

Bombay Begums

Starring Pooja Bhatt, Rahul Bose, Shahana Goswami and Amruta Subhash, the web series seems to be promising at the start. However, as this larger-than-life series moves forward, cringe creeps in and the series starts banking heavily on misplaced sense of empowerment and unnecessarily-complicated relationships. Sadly, the series falls with a dull thud and ends up as a huge pile of mess.

Watch it either for some great outfit ideas, especially Rani’s, or if you have nothing else better to do.

3. Mumbai Diaries:

When: March 2021

Where: Prime Video

Mumbai Diaries

This series highlights the altruistic activities of the doctors, nurses and medical staff on the night of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. Mumbai Diaries 26/11 is created by Nikkhil Advani and Emmay Entertainment and stars Konkana Sen Sharma, Mohit, Tina Desai, and Shreya Dhanwanthary.

The series was announced in November last year but the OTT platform is yet to announce its release date. Hopefully it will be available this month. Let’s wait and watch.

4. Pagglait:

When: March 26

Where: Netflix

This Sany Malhotra-starrer movie seems promising and fresh. The trailer shows Sandhya, who has recently lost her husband, is unexpectedly and unusually feeling no mournful thoughts which in turn gives rise to some hilarious turn of events. As the trailer concludes, she is seen seeking her own identity and speaking up about how when women become wiser, the world started calling them mad. Interesting!

The slice-of-life movie seems a fun watch. A possible star of this month!

5. The Married Woman:

When: Now Streaming

Where: ALT Balaji

The Married Woman

This web-series is set in 1992, the year of riots, though this fact remains just a backdrop and never adds much value. The series is about a woman who is a dutiful wife and mother but apparently feels taken for granted in her home and in her marriage. She feels drifted towards another woman who persuades her to discover herself.

The initial episodes are painstakingly slow as compared to more interesting later ones but it will take steel of a determination to watch them through.

6. 7 Kadam:

When: March 24

Where: Eros Now

7 Kadam

Starring Ronit Roy and Amit Sadh, this web-series is a sports drama based on football loving a father-son duo, who connect over their passion for football but cross paths in the clash of ideals and morals.

7. 1232 km

When: March 24

Where: Disney+Hotstar

1232 km

Releasing on March 24 to mark one-year anniversary to one of the world’s most draconian lockdown, this docu-series will re-visit the mass exodus that happened during the onset of lockdown when lakhs and lakhs of migrant workers started walking on foot towards their hometowns.

Made by National Award-winning documentary ‘Can’t Take This Sh*t Anymore’ Vinod Kapri, this documentary shows the journey of seven migrant workers who were left without any transport arrangement, food or shelter during the lockdown and had to cycle from Ghaziabad to Saharsa, Bihar.

8. OK Computer:

When: March 26

Where: Disney+Hotstar

OK Computer

This futuristic sci-fi comedy Hotstar Specials series follows cyber cell agent Hari Kundu (Varma) who attempts to solve a pedestrian’s death that happened by a self-driving car. The investigation leads to assumptions that AI has turned on its creator, and that robots are demanding same treatment as humans.

Now you know what to watch and what to avoid and what is worth waiting for this month. Here are some more binge-watch worthy content from Feb, Jan, Dec, Nov and Oct.
