Who doesn't know Supreme nowadays? The red box with some white letters, no one knows why people love SUPREME so much. Some people love it so much that they buy a $10 t-shirt for 5 times of that price just because of the SUPREME logo?
Maybe SUPREME got so much hype because of celebs rocking in that outfit or just people find the logo attractive or they are so rich that they want to show the world that they buy a $10 T-shirt pay ten times of it just for a logo?

Supreme has becoming so hyped up. more and more people want to own their piece, but the quantity Supreme is making stays almost the same. So its not hard to understand the reason why. Ultimately, its the consumers themselves drive the price up. demand>supply, its a really simple concept in economics. When we talk about consumers/customers, there are "real" and "fake". People who buy them and wear the hell of them, and theres people who buy and Page on resell

Back in '94, Supreme just the same as UNDFTD, Stüssy, and other American streetwear brands. Supreme is actually making quality products with reasonable price. So there is enough room for resellers to drive the price up. 

Another thing is the brand representation. Supreme doesnt do mass production, and it limits the retail options. Right now, you can only get them at their stores and online store. you can get stussy at most skateboarding store, so there is the exclusivity, which is closely tied to the 'hype' in my opinion. Most consumers of Supreme are at their 20s', they all want to be different and exclusive. Supreme allows them look cool, at the same time, you barely see another person wearing the same thing as you. I think Supreme borrows some of the Japanese streetwear marketing strategies to keep the quantities so limited.

Also, celeb constantly wearing Supreme has a strong influence on the brand.  Because people want to dress like celebrities they like, so they copy. 

20 years of hard work finally pays off, its not hard to understand why Supreme is so successful. it remains the hottest topics on HYPEBEAST. Online Magazine and Shop, no matter its good or bad, at least people care about Supreme. Maybe one day, people get sick of Supreme, and doesnt care much about it , the hype will disappear  itself. As of right now, Supreme will remain the hottest streetwear brand.
