Federal Defence Space Administration Recruitment 2018: Federal Defence Space Administration (DSA) Fresh Job Recruitment (7 Positions).

The Defense Space Administration (DSA) was established by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to: develop and operate military space technologies; Support Nigerian military operations inside and outside the country, as well as security agencies responsible for internal security, through the use of satellites; Provide flexible and affordable space and cyberspace capabilities to the Nigerian armed forces and other security and law enforcement agencies.

The Defence Space Administration, DSA is currently recruiting for suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant positions listed below:

Job Title: Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Engineer
Location: Nigeria
Job Description

• Provide positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) technical analyses in support of satellite navigation activities.
• Provide PNT services including orbit determination, geo-positioning and space-based navigation such as GPS.
• Perform analysis and studies of next-generation Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
• Design and perform experiments to evaluate and improve orbit determination preference.
• Perform a variety of assignments related to the accuracy of position, velocity determination and trajectory analysis.
• Perform orbit determination for a variety of satellite missions using real and simulated data.
• Design and perform experiments to evaluate and improve orbit determination performance.
• Process mission data and perform mission-level and system-level analyses.
• Perform analyses and studies for next-generation GNSS designs and architectures.

Job Requirements

• Familiarity with anti-jam antennas and signal processing
• Experience in PNT systems of systems engineering, design, technical evaluation, or acquisition oversight
• Knowledge of hardware including radio frequency (RF) through digital and embedded processing
• Broad technical familiarity in PNT systems (spanning space/ground /user segment technologies), military and commercial.
• Experience with understanding gaps, formulating technical solutions, and also providing acquisition oversight for enterprise modernization of Joint PNT systems.
• Knowledge of threats to PNT systems and their effective counter-measures
• Understanding of PNT dependencies with other capabilities such as tactical communications, command and control, or targeting
• Understanding of weapon systems that rely on or incorporate PNT systems
• Familiarity with emerging PNT technologies from industry or academia.
• Strong communications background (verbal and written)

• B.Sc Physics, Engineering or Computer Science.

Job Title: Earth Observation Officer
Location: Nigeria
Job Description

• Data Collection, analyzing data, Compiling Excel Spreadsheets, coding and re-coding data and using MATLAB.
• Imagery Change Detection, Feature Extraction, View Shed Analysis, Cost-Distance Analysis, Travel-time Analysis and advanced multi-criteria analyses using complex arrays of data inputs.
• Processing, editing and manipulation of Geospatial imagery and derived classification products.

Job Requirements

• Must be proficient in GIS/ Remote Sensing Software such as (Erdas Imagine, ArcGIS, ENVI, GRASS, Remote View Pro. 4, GD GIS/Remote Sensing)
• MSc GIS/Remote Sensing is an added advantage

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc/HND in either Geography, Land Survey or other Environmental Science courses. BSc Physics, BSc Geology, BSc Geo-informatics, PGD GIS or Remote sensing.

Job Description

Build and use computer-assisted software engineering (CASE) tools to automate the writing of some code. Must be very proficient in C, C++, JAVA and PYTHON

Job Description

• GNSS System Implementation and Verification including support to System Test Campaigns using System Tools including Radio Navigation Receivers.
• Participation in the overall Radio Navigation R&D roadmap for the definition of high Technology Readiness Level (TRL) activities.
• Participation in studies, simulations and laboratory testing for the assessment of system end-to-end functionalities and performance, including measurement campaigns, data processing and field testing, also applied to radio navigation receivers design and techniques.
• Support the DSA in the monitoring of industrial contracts for the development of radio navigation (System Support) tools and equipment including receivers and for studies on radio navigation, including generating technical requirements and statements of work.

Job Requirements

• Specific and Strong knowledge on the design of satellite navigation systems, ranging and positioning techniques, RF, and signal processing techniques, focusing on navigation receivers.
• Strong experience at the user level with satellite navigation receivers and satellite navigation positioning and integrity algorithms.
• At least 4 years’ experience relevant to GNSS systems and equipment including receivers and good knowledge of Radio Navigation processing, simulation, and testing systems.
• Knowledge in the implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation processing, simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications.

• Verification and deployment of programs and systems.
