KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Saturday said that it is his deepest wish that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P) and the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) sort out their differences and work together for the betterment of the people.
Shah said that anyone who’s claiming about getting offers should come forward, adding that if anyone from his party is found guilty of the offence, he would be punished.
Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Saeed Ghani, on the occasion, said that MQM is suffering because of the ‘injustices that it has committed.’ He said that it has the blood of innocent people on its hands. Ghani further said that there was a time when the whole city would just shut down on one call by the MQM leader and now they’re looking for places to hide.
An MQM-P meeting, held late Monday, ended in chaos as Sattar and Amir Khan disagreed over the nomination of Kamran Tessori as MQM-P’s candidate for Senate. Following the disagreement, Sattar and his supporters left the Bahadurabad venue for his residence in PIB Colony amid chants in the party chief’s favour.
Negotiations between both camps yielded no breakthrough as party leaders opted for expressing their grievances openly through separate press conferences.
Both factions of the party have also submitted separate nomination papers of their candidates while maintaining that a number of nominated candidates will be withdrawn after reaching a breakthrough on the issue.
