Nagesh Thiraiyarangam Movie Censor Report: Nagesh Thiraiyarangam a horror genre film which faced the wrath of actor Anand Babu, son of late legendary comedian Nagesh, but got sorted out later, has been given 19 cuts from the Censor Board and a U/A Certification. Directed by Mohammed Isaack who made his mark with a Guinness World Record on his debut movie Agadam which he made in a single shoot,

Speaking to DC, Isaack reveals, “Nagesh is the name of the hero. And his dad, who is a crazy fan of late legendary comedian Nagesh, runs a theatre named after the latter. The story is set in a theatre as the backdrop and when the theatre runs at a loss, the family moves to the city in the story. Twenty years later, when the son wants to sell the property, he finds it extremely difficult as a ghost occupies the space. How he finally resolves the problem and sells it forms the crux.”

But why 19 cuts and still a U/A Certificate, we ask. He says, “The censors felt that it has terrifying and blood-chilling horror scenes and hence cannot be viewed by children. Hence they gave 19 cuts and U/A, which means children below the age of 12 are allowed to watch the film with parental guidance. I also accepted without raising any query.”
