John Abraham is on a roll as a producer, no wonder he’s been busy partying and hosting surprise parties at his house. 2018 has been a successful year for John, his last films Satyameva Jayate and Parmanu:The Story of Pokhran both have fared well at the box office.He’s now busy shooting for Batla House which has been inspired by the real-life operation headed by former ACP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
John will be jointly producing Batla House with director Nikkhil Advani but that’s not all, he has collaborated with Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Monisha Advani,Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani’s Emmay Entertainment for a joint venture to produce more films together. They have tied up to make more meaningful and commercially relevant cinema and will be jointly producing six films together.
John Abraham said, “Market forces today demand that smart alliances are formed to fulfill audience expectations. Our association thus far has been excellent test bed from which we have all learnt a lot.”
Besides producing, John will also be acting in some of the films while the rest he will only be a part of as a producer. Similarly Nikkhil Advani will direct a few of the films while they will hire other directors too for some of the films. The other directors who have been finalized so far are Gauravv Chawla, Samar Shaikh, Kaashvi Nair and Ranjit Tiwari.
Speaking about the same, Nikkhil Advani said, “We welcome this collaboration as it will enable us to push the envelope with new stories, formats. Mostly, as partners we are committed to creating opportunities based on meritocracy and a healthy work culture.”
Bhushan Kumar too is happy with the collaboration.“Having worked with John, Nikkhil and everyone at Emmay, I have a very secured partnership. Of equal if not greater value is their partnership as producers. They are valuable talent assets and we are privileged to have them in our joint venture. With the six films JV T-Series intends to leverage their complementary skills in talent access & development as well as efficient production,” added Bhushan.
According to a spokesperson at T Series, the first six films will go on floors between 2019-20, and more will follow. The makers will make the rest of the announcement soon.
