Akshay Dalvi Shares The Story Of His Social Entrepreneurship Venture

Akshay Dalvi borrowed Rs. 5000 from his mother, and Rs. 1000 amount from his friends to start his first venture. It has been five years of a roller coaster ride, but he is now running a social media page called Words of Akshay, where he shares motivational posts. He also heads a consulting firm for entrepreneurs, where he helps them with internet technologies, marketing and boosting brand value.

Akshay was equally attracted to academic and sports in school. But over the years, his interest in studies increased, and he even dropped his sports activities for a couple of years. He says, “I have always been an introspective person. I would daydream a lot and found that I could express myself best through writing. Often, I could not even speak what I felt. Writing became so ingrained that soon it became my second nature.”

His first venture was more of an experiment. He was already writing for more than 12 years before Words of Akshay was conceptualised. He says, “I was often told by my friends, and client for whom I was freelancing, that I should pursue a career in writing. But I was skeptical about it. Once I had organised my content, I thought I had a chance. All that I had learnt in digital marketing and media, I applied to make my venture succeed.”

As there is so much content creation happening online, Akshay strove to ensure that his work stands out. He says, “You should create content that you can personally relate to. It should be your heart pumping emotions of the subjective feelings that we have with us. For me it is simple; everyone is unique, so it is important to stay true to yourself. Look within and you will always find content that not only amuses others but you.”

He says that though the reader may interpret the content as per their perception, they will still relate to it if you write with conviction. He says, “Mostly, my stories are about equanimity, forgiveness, being unattached, being sincere and dedicated without expectations. People want these values, and they just need a confirmation that if they stick to it, they can achieve what they want.”

When he decided to start his social media page, he got a lot of support from friends, who use to share ideas. Though, initially, no one had an idea that he could make a name for himself where corporates where heading the world of microfiction, but he continued with persistence.

The future for Words of Akshay includes creating content that has a social impact. He says, “It is about creating value systems, motivating and inspiring readers that they can pursue what they love if they engage in meaningful learning. We want to reach more people, share ideas, learn from them and because of my enterprising background, I want to add value to the readers in some or the other way.”

Akshay has followed his passion, and overcome the financial hurdles to follow his calling in the world of words.
