Bhuvan Bam’s Rahguzar Speaks About Father-Child Bonds

Bhuvan Bam has released one more song of his, titled Rahguzar. The music video of this track arrived two days ago and has already managed to grab more than 3.5 million views on YouTube. Rahguzar has been written by Bam as an apology from a child to his father.

This is his fourth single in a journey that had started with Teri Meri Kahaani which was created for the soundtrack of web series Permanent Roommates, back in 2016. Rahguzar cannot be described as a good song though, and it lays bare the YouTube star’s really modest music direction skills.

Same goes for his lyrics writing ability. Rahguzar features poetry with an incredibly awkward rhyme scheme. The lines sound more like sentences molded into rhymes. Yet, if it’s the thought that counts, then the song has some brawn in it.

Rahguzar has been written from the point of view of a child who is grieving the loss of his father. The chorus hence goes, “Gaye kyun magar mere humsafar. Jahaan ka mushkil milna pata. Mere dil zara usi rahguzar. Pe le chal mujhe phir ik dafaa.”

Bhuvan Bam, who has also composed this track apart from writing its lyrics and singing it, has chosen a tone that goes well with its overall nature. The music, which is heavy with acoustic guitar progressions, creates a professional aura around the tremendously mediocre poetry. Music producer Omkar Tamhan deserves some credit for this.

Coming to the music video, it has been shot well. Apart from Bam singing with a guitar in his hand, it shows a father-son duo sharing a special bond when the kid is small. Once grown up, the kid becomes careless and cold towards his father and realizes this only when his father is no more.

Bhuvan Bam’s previous song was a much better affair than this one. Called Safar, it was released in June this year and is currently on its way to breaching the 10 million mark on YouTube, in terms of views. And his earlier track Sang Hoon Tere, which was released in January this year, has already crossed 11 million views.

Bhuvan Bam’s popularity in India is unparalleled, which ensures that his music too gains huge audiences when it’s released. A song like Rahguzar hence makes you wonder if anyone would have wanted to listen to it had it been sung by someone not as popular as Bam.
