Video clippings of a miffed Esha Deol storming out of the Lakme Fashion Week 2018 along with mother Hema Malini have been going viral. Well, the reason is that both Esha and Hema were walking the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week 2018 together after a really long time. Both mother and daughter were excited because the moment was special. But during the media interactions when Hema handed the mike to Esha and asked her to speak about her film Cakewalk, the anchor who was hosting the segment said that this was only a photo opportunity for the press and questions could happen later and further added that the media was welcome to ask questions to the designer Sanjukta instead! When a journo further asked Esha another question, she said it was better if the questions were directed to the anchor and stormed out asking her mother to follow too.

Since the answers about Cakewalk were not allowed to be answered at the LFW press conference, here’s all you need to know about Esha Deol’s comeback film Cakewalk.

Cakewalk is a Hindi short film helmed by Hema Malini’s biographer Ram Kamal Mukherjee, who has also written the story. Esha will be playing the role of a chef in the film. Cakewalk will depict the professional and personal journey of a woman in the Indian society.

Esha took a break from films after getting married to businessman Bharat Takhtani, then had a baby girl, Radhya, in 2017. But now will be back on the big screen with Cakewalk. The film will be co-directed by Abhra Chakraborty, who assisted National Award-winning Bengali director Bappaditya Bandhopadhya in Elar Chaar Adhyay. The film has been shot extensively in Kolkata and it is being said that Esha will be seen in a completely different avatar. Cakewalk also stars popular Bengali actress Anindita Bose and introduces model turned television actor Tarun Malhotra as the male lead.

The film is produced by Dinesh Gupta, Shailendra Kumar and Aritra Das under the banner of Assorted Motion Pictures and S S One Entertainments.
