Nut allergies usually develop in childhood, but yes, it is possible to develop one in your young adult and adult years as well.

How To Prevent A Future Occurrence?

A lot of the Food labels do state if their ingredient list has nuts in it, so do make sure to read the label and the list first, before you eat something, especially packaged foods. If you are not sure whether or not what you are eating contains nuts or not, it is best to avoid eating it altogether.

To avoid an allergic reaction in the future, consult an allergist and get yourself tested and check if you have to stop eating them altogether or in moderation.
